Finding the right product

AlphaRiser range of products

The AlphaRiser system can be adapted for every construction type and whether the units are sited against a core wall or separately within the floor slab. This page provides a guide on typical product selection and types of solution available. Don’t forget our team is here to help. Don’t hesitate to reach out!

Your 10-point plan for successful riser design

  1. Align Construction Type with the Right Riser Solution
Ensure your chosen riser solution is tailored to the specific construction method—whether steel frame, concrete, or hybrid.
  2. Incorporate Vertical Compartmentation Early
Plan for partition support and wall head restraint using WallBeams to maintain fire integrity and structural stability.
  3. Address Permanent Horizontal Firestopping Needs
Design for compliant and robust horizontal firestopping to prevent fire spread across floors.
  4. Plan for Temporary Firestopping During Construction
Include temporary firestopping measures to meet **JCOP** (Joint Code of Practice) requirements and ensure site safety during build phases.
  5. Engage Frame and Structural Designers Early
Early collaboration helps align riser openings with structural elements, reducing clashes and rework.
    1. Engage M&E Services Providers Early
Coordinate with mechanical and electrical teams to ensure riser routes and service penetrations are practical and efficient.
    2. Optimise Opening Positions and Primary Supports
Design riser openings and their supporting steel or concrete elements for cost-effective installation and long-term performance.
    3. Specify Compatible Partition Systems
Choose partition products that integrate seamlessly with riser solutions to ensure buildability and compliance.
    4. Confirm Design Alignment with Our Team
Reach out to validate your riser strategy and ensure it aligns with best practice and product capabilities.
    5. Host a Multi-Discipline Design Kick-Off Meeting
Bring together all stakeholders—architects, engineers, contractors—to align on riser strategy and start the project strong.

      AlphaRiser Cast-in Riser (CIR)

No need for temporary shuttering or edge protection! Cast-In Risers are designed to be delivered as complete units for new-build situations where they also provide the shuttering detail for a cast concrete floor. They can be adapted for multiple construction types including integration with the core wall. The GRP joists can be easily adjusted to accommodate the location of MEP services.

      AlphaRiser Retrofit

Combine all the benefits of easy joist adjustability with a post-fix riser solution. The Retrofit Riser uses the unique FreeBeam channel and provides the perfect solution for where riser units need to be fitted within existing floor slabs. This saves all the frustration of having to drill and re-drill fixings into the slab edge to locate the support joists and gives maximum flexibility for MEP coordination.

      AlphaRiser Fire Rated (FR)

The AlphaRiser FR is a fully-tested solution to provide horizontal fire stopping with the riser void. The unique design allows for the riser floor to be lowered when required to allow a fire rated structural compound to be poured into the void. The finished result brings all the benefits of AlphaRiser with a 2 hour fire proof structural slab.
